Gutter Cleaning Shellharbour

Shellharbour is really two places in one suburb. The original village sits on the headland around the harbour, with older cottages whose gutters have weathered decades of coastal air. Spreading out behind it are the newer estates toward Shell Cove and its marina, where modern homes carry complex hip-and-valley rooflines. The two produce very different gutter problems, and we treat them differently.

On the older homes, the concern is age and salt: original gutters and brackets that have been in sea air a long time need debris drawn out gently rather than scraped or blasted loose. On the new builds, the traps are the valleys and box gutters where two roof planes meet, debris collects there out of sight, and on a small modern lot an overflowing valley sheets water straight over paths, garage doors and entryways.

Either way, the headland cops onshore southerlies straight off the Tasman, and Shellharbour shares the Illawarra's habit of intense east-coast-low downpours. A clear gutter and a free-flowing downpipe are what stand between that kind of rain and your eaves.
