Gutter Cleaning Surry Hills

In a suburb of Victorian terrace rows, the most common gutter failure is not the eaves gutter you can see, it is the concealed box gutter running behind the front parapet. Those gutters drain through a single outlet, and when leaves seal it, the water has nowhere to go but through the roof. On a terrace, that usually means the ceiling of the best room in the house.

Surry Hills' street trees are dominated by London planes, including the well-known avenues along Bourke Street. Planes drop nearly all their leaves in one autumn run, and the leaves are large and flat, they settle over gutter outlets like lids. A clean in late autumn or early winter, after the drop finishes, does the most good here.

Access is the other local reality: terraces have no front setback, side access rarely exists, and many roofs are reached from narrow rear lanes. A vacuum hose reaches roofs and box gutters that would be slow and messy to clear by hand, and because everything is extracted into the truck, nothing ends up in your courtyard or the lane.
